Crochet Rectangle Shawl
Make a plug. Start by creating a live knot (a thread that is looped in a shape similar to a pretzel). Slide on your crochet hook, wrap the thread around the hook, pull it firmly. Slip the hook with the yarn loop through the circle on the hook, leaving a single skewer and a finished plug.
Because the shape is a rectangle, not a triangle, you have to keep the same amount of stitches done.
Your scarf should be long enough to surround your body, or the body of anyone who will receive your gift scarf.
Knit along the chain with your choice pin. You need to make sure all your stitches are as big as you do. Use any skewer that's easiest for you, or that you think is great for a rectangular shawl. [4]
"Double bowl" is a good basic skew: find the fifth chain plug on your base chain. Attach the thread from back to front. Always end with a double skewer as your last skewer. Twist the chain three times then turn it over. Continue making a double skewer, scoop up the three stitches, and make three plugs to the finish.
Knock back and forth without adding or reducing stitches. You should keep the same rectangle shape when you work on it. If you miss a single stitch then you have to unpack your knitting up to that point or just make the stitches that fall apart divide the part of your design. [5]
The best thing you can do is to count the number of stitches while making the chain and then count them while doing it, because in this way you will be able to track whether you have missed the stitches.
